Can a Cold Storage Coin Be Used for Multiple Deposits and Withdrawals?

A Cold Storage Coin supports multiple deposits, but only a single withdrawal.

All funds must be withdrawn in one transaction. Once a withdrawal is completed, the coin should no longer be used or funded.

This single-withdrawal design is a core security feature.

To withdraw assets, the silver and yellow stickers on the back of the coin must be removed in sequence to access the full private key:

  • The silver sticker is the outermost layer. Removing it reveals the yellow sticker beneath
  • The yellow sticker contains the Private Key Entropy
  • The Passphrase Entropy is laser-engraved directly on the coin

Both components are required to reconstruct the private key.

Once the stickers are removed:

  • The Private Key Entropy (yellow sticker) may be lost or damaged
  • The private key data may be exposed to anyone with access to the coin

Any funds deposited after this point may become permanently unrecoverable or stolen.

For this reason:

  • Do not deposit new funds after the coin has been opened
  • Transfer all assets out in one transaction when withdrawing

The Cold Storage Coin is designed for long-term storage or gifting — not for repeated or everyday transactions.
